Flood, 2016. A collaboration with Ella Rothschild

drawings and sketches for 'Flood'- A collaboration with Ella Rothschild

September 29, 2016

Flood is a collaboration with the outstanding dancer and choreographer Ella Rothschild. It is an interdisciplinary piece, combining dance, animation, a sculptural environment and drawings. A key inspiration for the piece are the Pacific and Atlantic Garbage Patches, two vast areas in the oceans that are characterized by exceptionally high relative concentrations of plastics, chemical sludge and other debris that have been trapped by the currents of the Atlantic and Pacific gyre.

Artist in residence, the faculty of Science, the Hebrew University 2015-16

During 2015-16, my artistic practice went ‘through the looking glass’ journey’.
I was given an exceptional opportunity: The Hebrew University appointed me as visiting artist at its Life and Computer Sciences Safra Campus for one year. This incredible adventure played a crucial part in both expanding and sharpening my current artistic practice. I dove deeper into an exciting and thought-provoking pursuit in collaboration with a wide range of researchers, from far removed fields of research.
My collaborations led me to travel in time and scale.crafts. In the program, I collaborated with researchers from various faculties and institutes. This access nourished and shaped the body of the work.

This blog will present my encounters, conversations, process, findings new projects that a currently arising after this adventure.
