Nivi Alroy sketch

An early sketch for a collaboration with Prof. Eran Meshorer

December 22, 2015

This is an early sketch for a collaboration with prof. Eran Meshorer, who studies reprogramming of neuronal brain cells. This sketch was drawn after he told me about John Gurdon, the father of stem cell research and cloning. Although the work had completely changed ever since, I thought that it would still be interesting to expose the early thought process.

Artist in residence, the faculty of Science, the Hebrew University 2015-16

During 2015-16, my artistic practice went ‘through the looking glass’ journey’.
I was given an exceptional opportunity: The Hebrew University appointed me as visiting artist at its Life and Computer Sciences Safra Campus for one year. This incredible adventure played a crucial part in both expanding and sharpening my current artistic practice. I dove deeper into an exciting and thought-provoking pursuit in collaboration with a wide range of researchers, from far removed fields of research.
My collaborations led me to travel in time and scale.crafts. In the program, I collaborated with researchers from various faculties and institutes. This access nourished and shaped the body of the work.

This blog will present my encounters, conversations, process, findings new projects that a currently arising after this adventure.
