Every organism contains a genetic program that regulates the fate and life span of every cell. Apoptosis is an organised form of cell death required for development and renewal. In contrast, necrosis is a traumatic cell death that results from acute injury.Apoptosis (from Greek: fall) is part of the cycle of nature where death is an integral part of the life chain.
